Operating Theatre Lamp

Emergency Mobile Mains and Battery Operating Theatre Lamp - type F

The Emergency Operating Theatre Lamp is used as a stand-by in operating theatres, often as the Main Theatre Lamp in small clinics.

It consists of two parts, the lamp housing and standard, and the emergency battery power pack and cabinet. In case of mains failure, the relay instantly switches over to the battery supply, assuring a continuous electricity supply to the lamp head. The relay automatically returns to mains as soon as the power is restored, and the recharging of the battery starts again.

Lamp Head and Standard

The lamp head is mounted on an arm attached to a standard, it is spring counter balanced and swivels to both sides of the standard. It is adjustable in all directions and can be tilted up and down and rotated clockwise and anticlockwise. All positions are self locking. The handle is removable and can be steam sterilized.

The lamp head is completely enclosed and the four quartz halogen light bulbs are focusable and can be dimmed. They can be easily replaced.

The emergency battery pack and cabinet provides a fully automatic stand-by power source, which completely eliminates the risk of interrupted surgery due to the mains failure. It gives a 24 Volt DC supply from either Nickel Cadium, or Lead Acid, low maintenance batteries, and has an automatic battery recharging circuit and switchover relay all housed in a compact battery cabinet, mounted on four casters.

The lamp works on a mains supply of 220V, 50 cycle, single phase, reduced to 24V through a step down transformer and fed through a rectifier to the lamp head and to the batteries.

The complete unit other than the light bulbs carries a 12 month guarantee. The unit must be plugged into the mains permanently for the batteries to remain fully charged.
